[Homeroom #2]
When the giggling pair of roughly-dressed ferrets entered and found their seats at the back of the room, Jacob found himself covering his nose in disgust. The older boys--or maybe girls? It was hard to tell--were very clearly twins, and they brought in with them a mild, but foul odor. Like they hadn't bathed in weeks, or maybe were sprayed by a skunk.
After they'd sat down, they began whispering back and forth to each other, and not exactly -quietly- either. The rabbit's ears may have been especially sensitive, but surely others must've heard the inappropriate discussion. Particularly of note, were the comments that the buck was almost certain were directed at him specifically.
Impulsively and just a little involuntarily, Jacob turned his attention away from his notebook, ears quirking to follow his head as he glanced back at the duo with a small scowl. Snorting, he looked away again. On the inside though he was nervous. He didn't like the way they were looking at him.

Miriam would have been the first to answer Ms. Garza's question, but she wasn't that kind of person. If she was, she wouldn't be trying to hide behind her book, trying to make herself seem invisible, while listening to the other students. Her ear perked at Rose's answer, which sounded like she just literally read it from her science textbook, the way it was so general and wasn't even specifically about why Jupiter pulled on the sun. Then her other ear perked at Casey's answer, which was the complete opposite in how ridiculous it sounded. What a peculiar girl. The mouse then looked at Alex, both of her sensitive ears picking up his muttering. He was one to talk, calling the planet fat and then claiming the others were dumb. The raccoon looked bothered by something and Miri thought that perhaps it might be her, so she shrunk even more, if that was possible.

"Alright, that gives me a pretty good idea," Kara said. "For those of you who answered something to do with how heavy it was or how massive it was, you are right. Rose... that was an interestingly detailed response and I'm wondering if you just read my mind," she joked but knew that it was actually possible, given her experience. Good memories... and many bad, as well. Kara sat up on her desk and waved her tail around in the air. "Jupiter's mass is so close to that of the sun, and it is so close to it physically, that it yanks back at it like a large ball and a smaller ball tied together. The large ball rules the game but the smaller ball tugs at it. This is an admittedly simplified example of relativity. I hope we can get more into that later in the year, but we've got to start with the basics, especially considering that at least one of you thinks that Jupiter is 'fat,'" Kara remarked, poking fun at Alex who she had heard make that comment. "You all know that our system's 13 planets revolve around the sun, so we're going to expand upon that knowledge, here, for our first quarter. And yes, I said 13 planets! Oh no! Scandal, right? Wrong. Dwarf planets are planets, too. Aside from the 8 you've been told are 'real' planets, Ceres, Pluto, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea fit some of the criteria for being real planets, so we just call them dwarf planets. They have reached hydrostatic equilibrium, which basically means they are round and have soft cores, not unlike the Earth," Ms. Garza explained.
---
Julie read the note again and wrote some more on it. 'I'd love to be friends! You seem cute interesting and sweet. I'd love to see that boat some time!' she wrote and passed the note back. Ms. Garza noticed the note being passed but decided to ignore it, knowing that anyone who didn't know the material would get poor test grades anyway. Julie didn't answer the question about Jupiter but she did know about it. And dwarf planets. She was a big SciFi nerd that absorbed that kind of babble from TV shows and the like. She ran her hand through her head and spun her pen around in her other hand anxiously. It was immensely odd and nerve-wracking to be back at school. Her heart pounded in her chest and just wouldn't stop doing that. Her tail flicked nervously. Finally, she sighed and plopped her head down on the desk, closing her eyes as the stress of it all was becoming too much to bare in the moment. She definitely showed her stress outwardly.

Violet lands in the large open area that is the football field a few moments after watching two ferrets slip out from behind the shed and quickly slipped into the school. Tucking her wings behind her she shifts the front mounted backpack behind her once more one hand running down the light grey skirt and tugging down the light blue backless blouse before heading to the same doors that the twin ferrets disappeared into a few moments before. Digging into her backpack she pulls out her classes for the day and a map of the school so she can find the rooms, she heads out. Keeping her head down she walks through the halls her beak in the map to avoid eye contact with the others until she reaches the class room door marked on her sheet as Homeroom #2. Opening the door she looks around noticing that a male rabbit and the ferret twins were also in the same class but so far no teacher. Keeping her head down she quickly makes her way to the far back corner by the window. Setting her book back against the wall she brushes down her skirt before sitting down herself and pulling a book from her bag titled "There will be dragons", cracking it open and starting to read it trying her best not to draw any more attention than she already has.

Humming softly to himself, Eugene sauntered into Mr. Reynolds' class with a backpack that looked suspiciously light. Glancing about at the seats that were not yet taken, he picked one at random, which happened to be nearer towards the back and the window, just in front and slightly to the side of Violet. He opened his backpack, pulled out a tablet and set it down in front of him. Those were all his textbooks.

As soon as Lexy read the first words of the note, she simply radiated with glee. She was making her first friend already, on her first day of school! Her eyes flitted across the rest of the page, growing wider and wider, and she looked up with a beaming smile. She'd love to invite her over after school or maybe on a weekend to show her around her boat. She was about to write back a reply, but noticed that Julie was slumped over on her desk. Not having the slightest idea of what was wrong, she looked over at the teacher to see if she'd noticed and then back at Julie, placing a hand on her shoulder reassuringly.

The twins couldn't help but giggle more when the rabbit made the massive mistake of acknowledging them. One of them - which one it was was hard to say - went as far as to hold up their hand and part their fingers between the ring and middle digits, using the gap and their tongue to make a lewd gesture. Classy. Jacob's temporary savior soon arrived though, clad in blue feathers. The brightly-colored individual catches the twins' attention, the both of them following her with their eyes - then leaning together once more, their whispering starting once more. Seems Jacob was in the clear for now!

Alex blinked, actually lifting his head a bit. The hell? How did she hear him all the way back here? ...of course she didn't read his mind; that was ridiculous. ...right? he shakes his head a bit, trying to clear his mind a bit. Either way, though, he didn't like that; what did he have if not his ability to grumble curses? "...Hmmh." He mumbles to himself a bit, planting an elbow on the desk and resting his cheek against his knuckles. Yeah yeah, planets and gravity and shit. It's not like any of them were going to still be alive by the time that they COULD travel far enough for it to matter. Hell, even if that ever became possible. And even if people did, what purpose would it serve? Before long, he found himself lost in his thoughts, following the line of logic in his own little philosophical world.
...or he could just be daydreaming, and starting to doze off. That was a distinct possibility, too.

Edwin sits looking dumbfounded by the teachers question. "Damn what are we in for?," he thought to himself. Before saying anything the meerkat looked over to his friend, searching his expression for any signs of him knowing. When Kenny glanced back over to him he raised his brows and shrugged. Probably one of those trick questions they don't expect anyone to get right, yet.
The first response came as a bit of a surprise to him. He grinned toothily, eyeing between the teacher and the raccoon. It wasn't cool to him as much as it was entertaining to watch someone kick a hornets nest. He rests his chin on his hand again, leaning forward over his desk while he idly waits for everyone to get their answers out. None were quite as interesting as the first and Kenny's was short but plausible. Suddenly an answer came from behind him. He had forgotten someone was sitting behind him! He glances over his left shoulder to the two wolves, smiling back a bit passively while he gives each a small glance before looking forward again. He didn't want to come off as unfriendly to anyone.
By this time he had already forgotten what Rose's answer was but it sounded as hard as the question itself to him. Edwin tries to soak in as much as he can from the teacher when she responds to everyones input. He gave his best effort just to try showing Kendall he can take this stuff seriously though in the end the mumbo jumbo once again slightly eludes him. The terminology at least becomes a slight bit clearer.

After a few minutes the door opens once more but instead of another student walking in it was a tall well built wolf that was anything but a teen. Dressed in a white button down shirt that nearly hugged his chest with light brown khaki pants that was well worn but not faded he made an imposing sight as he walked down the aisle towards the front of the room. Once there he turned to look at the students in his class before giving a slight sigh and turning around picking up a marker before writing out his name for the whole class to see before turning back around. "My name is Mathue Reynolds and other than your home room teacher I will also be your Gym teacher. I go by Teacher, Sir or Mr. Reynolds and as I get to know you I may even let me call me Matt." His eyes look each one of his students in the eyes his nose slightly flaring as he does so. "While on school grounds I ask you to show respect by following the rules that are detailed in the hand books I'm about to hand out to you." He reach behind the desk and picks up a box and starts walking around the room handing the red cover books with the school's name on it. "I really don't expect you to memorize each and every one but there are a few that I will mention, first is guns and knives. If you have them don't bring the here enough said. Second is Drugs and alcohol, Don't not here, not ever. I don't care if you live in a drug induced alcoholic stupor at home in my class you will be sober and not hungover." He says eyeing the twins and the cloud that still surrounds them. Finally if you don't want to be here fine, but don't cause shit for anyone else who does." With the hand books passed out he returns to the front of the class. "Any questions?"

As Jacob tried to shake the mental image of that perverted ferret's parting gesture, to his quiet relief, another student's arrival diverted the twins' attention; as well as his own. The young teen's dark brown gaze followed the brightly coloured cross-breed as she found her spot near the back next to a window. Once she'd sat down and opened a book to read, the teacher finally arrived. However, when that six-foot tall wolf entered with bulging muscles threatening to burst free from the straining dress-shirt he wore, the tiny rabbit stiffened and hunched his shoulder imperceptibly. He'd never seen such a large beast before, and this one was over twice his height; he was everything the brainy buck wasn't; big and strong and clearly confident. Luckily he was able to meet the man's gaze for the few seconds they made eye contact, but after that he kept his head down, focused on his notebook while the inadvertently intimidating predator continued to introduce himself to his students.
Almost right away, the wolf laid into the class on the importance of safety, outlining some of the rules in the handbook he had begun dispersing to the students. Jacob took his without batting an eye, though an ear twitched errantly as Reynold's hulking body passed by. Immediately after, the buck dumped the book into his backpack and returned to his notebook. He'd already read the online version of the school's manual a dozen times already. And where the teacher seemed to doubt anyone could memorize the whole thing, the words on those pages were all the buck had been able to think about up until today. Mostly because some of the rules concerning weapons and drugs worried him greatly. It certainly didn't bode well for his first year of high-school.
After Mr Reynolds had returned to the front of the class, he prompted the students for any questions they might have. And right then, Jacob raised his small arm until he'd gotten the wolf's attention.
"Yes sir," he started in a stiff, objective tone, casually jabbing a thumb over his shoulder at the ferrets behind him. "On the subject of drugs, I suspect those two are on something."

Venrosh's ears perked up when the two ferrets entered the class, she glanced at them for a moment looking at how they moved and how the whisper and seem as if they are planning a hist of some kind. She smiled at how cute they look then her amber eyes moved to the male rabbit sitting at the head of the class. She watched him and smirked a little at how he had such a clean and neat system to his desk already, she found that very cute and a good sign of a disciplined person and maybe one who could help her learn more about her new home. Her eyes then move to the brightly colored Violet, she was so beautiful in her coloring Venrosh smiled and watched her for a few moments before the large wolf entered the room. As Mr.Reynolds entered Venrosh attention went totally on him. Carefully listening to him speak and then as he went around the classroom and handed out the red booklets. She pick her booklet up and looked at it for a moment before returning to watching him.
(Homeroom 1)
Rose blinked as Ms. Garza responded to her answer and Rose smirked a little, then she glance at Alex and watches him for a moment before looking back to the teacher and sighs. As she listens to the teacher talk she begins to make small finger gestures with her left hand as her arm rested on the desk and her right arm lifted up and allowed her to begin chewing on the end of her pen.
Robert turned his attention back to the teacher and with each student she speaks to Robert turns to make a mental note of who is who and the name that go's with each face in the class

"Ms. Garza..." Casey's waving her hand in the air, but she doesn't wait to be called on before she just starts talking. "Jupiter being 'fat' isn't COMPLETELY wrong, right? 'Cus weight is caused by gravity and mass, and Jupiter has a LOT of mass, so everything that has mass makes gravity, and gravity pulls on everything else, so a big person is pulling on everyone around them just a LITTLE bit more than everyone else does, right? So..."
She twists in her chair, looking around.
"It's like if we put miss leopard back there in the middle of the room and everyone pulled on her, right? She could drag us all around cus she's a lot bigger, but we're still pulling back, just not as good. But if she's the Sun, then like..."
She twists again while searching, her yellow sunglasses almost flying off her face.
"The wolverine girl could be Jupiter. Not as big, but pulling a lot harder than the rest of us!" She flops back down facing forward again. "Except I think miss leopard would have to be like 20 feet tall so she could yank us all around easier, like the sun does."
-----
DJ looks up from her studies when she hears the reference to her. Huh. The spaz-squirrel's not as clueless as she puts on. She glances over at Katya, a smile creeping across her face. Yeah, she'd have to be quite a bit bigger to pull that chick around easily, let alone the rest of the class. That lower center of gravity but comparable weight the wolverine has would make it more difficult than if they were the same height. SCIENCE!

The twins' smiles faded a bit - but then their lips peel back into wry smirks. In unison, they tilt their heads back and cup their hands around their mouths, simultaneously sounding off.
"Naaaaaaark!"
They then chuckle, not seeming to be all too phased by such a baseless accusation.

Alex was actually taken back a bit by Casey's explanation. She actually got what he meant? ...maybe he hadn't given her enough credit. ...nah. He was sure she'd shatter that, and fast. Still, he was pleasantly surprised.
---
Katya actually perks up a bit as she was mentioned, raising a brow and looking around as the squirrel talked about her - and at the feline female, returning the glance. She sized up the cat, pretty much coming to the same conclusion. She was certain she could take down DJ, if not put her through a wall!
...hopefully, she wouldn't have to find out here...

"I'm not going to lie, Ms. Oneill, you do demonstrate an understanding of physics, but in some ways physics in our atmosphere and on our scale is more complicated and in some ways it is less complicated. Scientists are still working on how mass on the level of the Sun compares down to mass on the level of a person in terms of gravity. We're just not sure yet about all of it. Anyway, a lot of what you're thinking about is muscle mass which varies between people, even when we take into account their size," Kara pointed out and indicated Casey with a point of her nose. "I would appreciate it if in the future you could not reference the mass of other students, and I would ask you to wait for me to call on you but I do like your enthusiasm," she added and smiled.
---
Julie was initially startled by Lexy's gentle touch but she felt comforted by it. She turned her head so one eye could see Lexy and gave her a half-hearted smile. Lexy looked very worried, and Julie started to feel bad about that. She placed one of her hands on Lexy's hand and mouthed 'I'm okay' as best she could to her. Then she pointed at the note on Lexy's desk and nodded, hoping she'd understand that she wanted her to write back to her again. She knew she couldn't explain everything, but she at least wanted to tell her how she was feeling so she wouldn't be unnecessarily concerned.

The twin bellow that followed Jacob's bold assumption made his hackles rise with indignance. He reckoned the goal was to get a reaction from him. And he was more than happy to give it to them, but instead, the rabbit took a deep breath and calmed himself. He promptly turned in his seat with a vaguely smug look on his face.
"Well, I wouldn't be a nark unless it were true, now would I?" he said evenly, before giving the predators his back again, with both ears flicking upright in silent satisfaction.
