Eddy beamed back at the teacher, content with the answer he'd received. Though more than likely he'd return tomorrow rocking his own shades. Maybe stunnah shades. After waiting for the attention to be totally off him Eddy scans the room for a bit, noticing the mouse girl shimmying into class. He giggled at this, nudging Kendall slightly before motioning towards her with his head, making his hair bounce a little. Keeping things low key though soas not to get her into any shit he continues looking about.
The noticably large jaguar sitting nearby caught his attention next. He smiled looking her over briefly, thinking 'damn, I wonder if I'll get to see HER in phys ed'. Fixing his mowhawk and composure a bit he looked around more. Students were still fluttering in, now filling up the front a bit more. He smiled to the few others moving to the cool guy side of the room but noticed quite a few looked a bit stressed so kept to himself for the time being.
He hardly knew anyone though wasn't too worried with his bestie next to him. He didn't know why but while he was with Kendall he didn't ponder who thinks what of him. Ears perking to the sound of his friends name, Eddy waited and watched the other students as theirs were called raising his hand once his was called too. "Here," he responded quickly. Personally, he didn't get the coincidence about the names yet.

Giving only a disgruntled groan when his name was called, Alex lazily leaned back in his desk's chair once the teacher's attention was off of him. He lazily looks out to his (left?) side, looking at the mouse girl for a bit - then at Julie when her lack of attentiveness was made known. He raised a brow at her; seems he wasn't the only one who wasn't so thrilled about being here. He casually glances over the rest of the class - mostly the backs of their heads - as he measures them up. Idiot, idiot, overachiever, snobby bitch number thirty-two, the snobby bitch that number thirty-two and her snobby bitch friends would likely bully to suicide...yeah, that was gonna be loads of fun. And, of course, they were seated far too close for his comfort. He eyes the jaguar for a bit - and quickly decides it's best not to let his sight linger there for too long.
Something helped, though - the raccoon suddenly turning to look at the rear door entrance, over Miri's head. Was someone tapping on the glass? He leaned back further, brow furrowed. he could have sworn he had heard something. ...Probably just some dickhead causing trouble. ...Then again, he wasn't one to talk. He just shakes his head, putting it to the back of the mind and turning to look back at Ms Garza, hoping that her lecturing would help time go by faster.

Lexy waved in response to Julie's greeting and proceeded to scribble something in her notebook. When she was done, she tore out the piece of paper, folded it, and passed it to Julie.
---
Kendall was really hyped up to learn some SCIENCE! Sciences of any kind were some of his favorite subjects, and he deemed himself to be rather well-versed in them. When he heard his name being called, he didn't bother raising his hand, and simply responded with "Here!" He chuckled at the teacher noticing the connection between his and Eddy's surnames and their famous namesakes. It was purely coincidental, of course, but he liked them being associated with the physicists, and when people actually got it... unlike Eddy, apparently, who was nudging him and making him look at other students. Sure, the mouse girl was cute, but she obviously didn't want other students paying attention to her, which, ironically, was backfiring, as several others seemed to have been glancing at her as well. Kenny shrugged in response to Eddy pointing her out, and faced the teacher again.
---
The closest person to Julie was Lexy, but nonetheless, she didn't hear her cursing to herself. However, she could sense the awkwardness from her body language and wished really hard that she could comfort her somehow. She actually hoped to make friends with at least a few of her classmates by the end of the day. For now, though, she was busy focusing on Ms. Garza's face, and not looking around at other students, most of whom sat behind her anyway. When she saw her name called, she raised her hand quickly, high above her head. She was actually so nervous, that she didn't even think about the fact that Ms. Garza was blind and wouldn't have been able to see that she was present.

Robert looked about as each student replied to their name being called, and when he heard his name called he answered with a positive "Here!". He then took noticed as he glanced around that that save for Kenny , Eddy and himself the center desks were empty. Hmmm he thought to himself .Guess it front or back of the class are the key places?. He glanced back at his sister who was still trying to sit as low as possible and hide behind the student named Eddy. He looked ahead as and took a deep breath, this was a new year and so far he felt good about it. It was time to learn names and make new friends and if at all possible find someplace other then home to hang out at.
Hearing her name called Rose just grumbled at first then then said "Yeah." she was less then thrilled about being here, meeting new friends and new places could be fun, but a new school was not on the high end of her to do list. As the teacher commented about science it just confirmed it this was hell. Rose watched a few of the students and noted the raccoon Alex scoping out others, she watched him for a moment thankful there DJ and a empty desk between them. Looking away she started to stare off at the back of Eddy's head.

DJ was leaning back in her chair by the time roll call came, hands behind her head, and she called out "here" in her husky voice. She knew how first days usually went, and she was only really half paying attention. Most seniors would probably skip the first day, but She yawns wide, showing off those big teeth. It begins again, and she's got work tonight. Oh well, that's life.
-----
Casey waved at Julie, catching that out of the corner of her eye. She slammed her sketchbook shut as soon as roll call started, and she shouted out "HERE!" before the teacher even finished saying her name. You'd think she'd downed a whole bowl of sugar this morning with how perky she was. The squirrel twisted in her seat to check out the other people, her gaze stopping on DJ ("holy crap she's huge..."), then the grumpy looking raccoon kid to the side ("why's he all grumpface?") before fixing her attention on the teacher. "Holy crap, you have sunglasses! Hold on!" She grabs and unzips her backpack, pulling out these gaudy yellow-framed sunglasses, too big for her face, and slips them on. There, NOW she's ready for class!

It felt like everyone's eyes were on her all of a sudden. It was a good thing that looks couldn't actually kill. Her heart started to beat fast and her palms got sweaty. Miriam shrunk into her seat like a hermit crab into it's shell, and hid her face behind a textbook. Little did she know that this would only draw more attention to herself.
"H-here," she stuttered in a high-pitched squeak when her name was called, muttering it too quietly for anyone but the closest person to hear. Seeing Alex turn to look at the rear door, she startledly looked as well, but did not see anything.

Julie saw Casey waving at her from across the room and just smiled awkwardly. She had taken Lexy's note but was waiting until attendance had been taken to actually look at it. It read 'Hi, my name is Lexy. I'm deaf, just so you know,' Julie looked at Lexy and gave her a real smile before taking her pen in her hand and writing something back. 'That's neat. I've never met someone who is deaf, before. Are you new to the school, too?' She wrote and handed the note back to Lexy discretely. Looking out the window for a moment, she smiled and felt happy for the first time in a while. She folded her hands on her desk.
---
Kara laughed at the apparent prevalence of silly figures in the class and shook her head good-naturedly.
"Good to see we've all got a sense of humour," she said, and turned her senses toward the whole of the class. "Since Astronomy is part of Earth Science and happens to be my favourite part, I wanted to do some beginning questions to gauge your collective knowledge of it. First question, for which the reward will be one free internet, the sun asserts gravity on our solar system and beyond, but Jupiter also exerts a measurable gravitational pull on IT! Can someone tell me why that is?"

"'cause it's a fffffuckin' fatass..." Alex mutters in boredom, not caring if anyone heard his off-color comment. He winces a bit, reaching up to tap the side of his head with his wrist - now actively trying to focus on the teacher and the students around to try and take his mind off of it.
"...because it's heavy too, right?" Katya asks after a moment of hesitation, trying to engage a bit. Hopefully it'd help her stay awake! She hoped she wasn't wrong; last thing she needed was to reinforce the idea people had that she was just a dumb brute.
Kaien knew the answer, and he knew it well. But he remained quiet; he wanted to see how others were doing! He does look over his shoulders in the meantime; first over his right, then his left. He looks at the meerkats, smiling a little, and even giving a quick wink. At which one, though, was hard to tell!

[Homeroom #2]
When Jacob finally arrived to his first class on his very first day of high-school, the rabbit was internally elated and terrified. He'd been held back, trying to get his papers in order, because the school's receptionist at the front desk, sweetheart that she was, didn't believe him initially when he came asking for his class schedule. His diminutive stature, neat attire and the fact he was only thirteen, had the woman convinced he should still be in middle-school; of the 'uppity' variety she'd made sure to add. The intellectually inclined buck however, had come prepared with his school records, a dull demeanor and a signed letter from the Principal that confirmed he'd been bumped up a grade; though the near-sighted lady had to inspect it closely several times before accepting it. And thanks to the extended mix-up, he was close to running late on day one.
Just walking the corridors of an entirely new school was dizzying to the tiny, displaced teen, but when he finally tracked down homeroom-two and entered, his insides suddenly felt like they'd turned inside out. He'd never seen so many older classmates, and most of them dwarfed him in height. For a few tense seconds he looked like someone's lost child who'd wandered into the wrong room. But then he quickly put on an outward appearance of confidence, one that lacked the fear and uncertainty of his new, unfamiliar surroundings. Taking deliberate steps, the small rabbit padded straight to the nearest, empty desk.
He made certain his choice of seating was equidistant from both the front of the class and the nearest door. His prime position for arriving, learning and departing with the most efficiency. And once he'd plopped down on the chair, looking just a little out of place thanks to his size, the young teen dug into his backpack to begin setting up his own personal little workstation at his desk. There even seemed to be a system for it, everything in it's own special place, assigned perfectly to be within reach based on importance. A binder here, a notebook there, exactly three pencils, all sharpened to the same length, with the sharpener close by; an eraser on his right side, but just one, because he rarely needed to erase mistakes. His math kit was front and center, packed with different types of rulers and other essential supplies.
Once he'd finished setting up, he went straight to work writing in his notebook while his ears stood attentively facing the front of the class, like he'd just entered into a class on calculus at the height of mid-terms.

Kenny briefly glanced at Eddy, wondering whether he should let him answer this one, but then decided against it. "Because it's so massive?" Kenny asked, after a couple of the other students gave their best tries. He then caught Kaien out of the corner of his eye, looking their way. Did he just... wink at one of them? He shook his head and focused on the class.
---
Lexy received Julie's note and read it, smiling to herself the whole time. Seeing as she did not intent on answering the teacher's question, she took this time to write a reply. 'Yes, my family just moved here. We live on a boat!' She thought about what else to add, nibbling on the eraser at the tip of her pencil for a moment. 'We travel a lot, so I never know how long I am going to stay at a place. I hope we can be friends!' Wagging her tail, she carefully passed the note back to Julie.

Roberts mouth just drops open for a moment at the question and he blinks a few times before closing his mouth as he tries to think of the answer.
Rose sighs and raises her hand but then just says "The force of gravity between two objects depends on the mass of the two objects and the square of the distance between them, thus each planet in our system has a effect on our solar system?" She then glances around quickly and lowers her hand and go's back to trying to hide behind Eddy.
Robert sloooowly looks back at his sister with a raised brow trying to think. When did she become such a nerd?

::OOC Update:: Sorry I didn't mention this sooner, guys, (I didn't think we'd keep getting people!) but new members (and new characters) should start off in homeroom #2! It's a math class and will have a wolf teacher. We want to fill out this second class a little and not have a bunch of people coming in late all the time XD The only one exempt from this is Miss Fenmore, because she reserved a spot and was in the roll call. Sorry for the inconvenience! ^^; In other news: We have 12 students in Ms. Garza's class! (13 if we count the one who didn't show up.) 5 of them are male, and 7 are female. And the most common species are feline and canine, with three of each. That's it for this update and ya'll may now resume your RPing!

(Homeroom 2)
Venrosh walks through the school hall ways with her class list in hand her black book bag in her other hand. Her black long side split gothic dress shows her just up to her knees and her blood red stockings and her knee high black muli buckled three inch souled boots. Her black short french style jacked works well with her white ruffled sleeved and ruffled V neck blouse and leather choker with a red polished gem stone set in the middle of it. She stops often and looks at the room number then moves on til she finds the right room and walks into homeroom #2. She looks about eagerly and finds a seat at the front of the class. After sitting for a moment and realizing she was the only one there at that moment she gets up and moves to the middle row. After looking around again she seems to be annoyed with her selection and moves again to a middle row desk only on the other side. She looks around and nods as if agreeing with that spot. She smiles and sits with her hands in front of her on the desk watching the desk at the front of the room as if waiting for something.

"Because it's jealous of the sun and wants to be the center of attention, obviously." Casey answered very matter-of-fact. Why didn't everyone else know this? It's common sense! Gawd, talk about an easy question. She was already regretting putting her art book away.
---
DJ reaches down to her bag and pulls out a notebook, pen, and senior-level science book. She's on a somewhat varied curriculum but she might as well stick to the same subject, right? She flips through the book until she hits the astronomy section, cross-references with her study guide, and keeps an ear open while doing her independent study. She'll chime in if something needs clarification or they're having trouble, and she's basically a teacher's aide if Ms. Garza needs it.

"...Wow. Buncha dumbasses..." Alex mutters to himself, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. The asshole making those ticking sounds he heard from behind the rear door was probably smarter! Seriously, who the hell's doing that? And why isn't it bothering anyone else? He knew this day was going to suck - but this much, this quickly? This had to be a new suck record.
---
"Shh! Someone's coming!" "Isn't that part of the fun~?"
A feminine giggle and a more masculine chuckle were stifled, a male and female pair of ferrets currently bunched up and hiding in a blind spot they'd found behind the shed out by the track and field. Once the footsteps they heard faded away, the two were confident they had some alone time.
"C'mon, we don't wanna be too late; they might send someone looking for us!" "Hold your horses~!" Samantha giggles, holding up a white paper-wrapped object, the far end of it burning. She places it to her lips, taking a long, slow - if not outright greedy! - drag, then offering the rest to Samuel. She holds it for a bit, then exhales slowly, giggling all the while. "Hey, that tickles~! And you're the one whining about getting caught..." "Can't help it sometimes; you know that.~" Samuel says with a small chuckle, using his free hand to repeat the same process Samantha had.
The two of them slumped back lazily against the shed, staring up and out at the backs of buildings, sky, and the few trees they could see past the fencing. They adjusted and straightened out their clothes, carefully putting out and disposing of any evidence of their deeds, and finally looked at each other with broad smiles.
"You saw the cat girl? The big one?" "Yeah. She's pretty hot, huh? You wondering if she'll...?" "When am I not?"
The both of them giggle again, wry smirks on their faces.
"There's the rabbit, too - the small one. Walks around like he's got a stick up his ass; little guy's gotta lighten up, huh?" "Yeah. Wanna take bets on which of us he'd rather do?" "You know it~!"
With that, the pair decided to depart. A quick glance to make sure the coast was clear, then the lithe teens darted towards the main building with speed that only hyperactive carpetsharks like them could achieve. Though they were starting to feel the effects of a little stanky dank, it was rather weak stuff - to them, at least - so there wasn't too much trouble finding the class. Before entering, the duo decided to make the best use of their current anonymity, Samantha rolling her hair up and tucking it under her beanie while Samuel tugged on his shirt to loosen it a bit - making the two practically indistinguishable. Once their ruse was set, the two slipped in through the back door - taking the two centermost seats in the back. Perfect perving position!
And perfect it was. With the small number of students, Samantha leaned over a bit, nudging her brother with her elbow and whispering to him.
"Hey, look at the front row, second one from the door!" "Speak of the devil, huh? He's kinda cute, don'tcha think?" "Oh definitely! And looks like the virgin type to me, too.~" "One can hope!"
The two giggled profusely, but tried to restrain it, covering their mouths as they sat back u-and theeeere it was. The full effects began to set in now, both of the ferrets slouching in their desks. This year was gonna be awesome.
